Mozart meets Darwin:

Can evolution create art? In this experiment we try to evolve music out of random sequences. Everybody can contribute by voting between different melody sequences. A computer program on a server will gather the rankings until it has sufficient input to decide how to evolve to the next generation. Mutation and recombination will be the "creativity" of the computer program. Please click the link, listen to the sequences and state your preferences. Over time, you will help to evolve better pieces of music. The results will be posted later under the GNU FDL license - so you can use the evolved melody in a song if you like.
