About Lakeside Labs

Lakeside Labs is a research and technology center working in the field of information and communication technology.

In close cooperation with university departments, new concepts, technologies and algorithms for self-organizing networked systems are being developed. The Lakeside Labs complements the great potential of the University of Klagenfurt and the Lakeside-Park. So they afford the research results for the implementation into field companies.

Therefore Lakeside Labs represents the link that connects science, university education and industry, offering possibilities for national and international research institutions and industry partners to come together and cooperate. This is where fundamental research and technology research are combined.

The scientific core of the Lakeside Labs are presently the departments of the Faculty of Engineering. They have a wide research knowledge in areas like communication networks, mobile radio, signalling, multi media technology, pervasive computing and sensor- and adhoc-networks.

Self-organizing networked systems takes part in every system which is central organized and reached its limits.

Potential primary fields of application are in disaster management or in automotive safety. For example in events of a disaster, mini helicopters can send video streams to the rescue team self-organized. Implement in cars, self-organizing networked systems communicate among each other, so they call attention to accidents or traffic jam.
